South Beach’s social scene is all about juxtaposition. You’re either into the excess and hubbub of its lounges and clubs, or the casual cool of its divers. When I moved here, I went through a clubbing phase until my friends cajoled me into a night at Lost Weekend and I had an incredible time. The experience made me realize I prefer a relaxed, down-to-earth atmosphere, and would much rather dress in a T-shirt, jeans and boots than a bandage dress. Since then, Lost Weekend has become my choice for a night on the town, especially when I’m planning to be out for a while or with a large party. The sprawling space lets our group spread out and play pool, and when we’re looking to nibble, we usually order bar bites from resident restaurant, The Alibi, one of the area’s best-kept secrets.
