Palm Beach Post: Local’s Guide On Your Day Trip To West Palm


At Hullabaloo, with its speakeasy feel, its indoor and outdoor dining options, its walls hung with moody black-and-white photographs (rock on, Sid Vicious), the wait seems almost effortless. And if the well-curated beer and wine lists along with the starter menu don’t entice you, the back patio — complete with Airstream Bus to reserve — will. This sweet spot on the west side of Clematis is a picturesque respite from West Palm Beach’s bustling downtown.

If you’re there for lunch, the grilled cheese with heirloom tomatoes and bacon is a good choice, and you’ll love the zucchini chips that come with it. If you make it over for Sunday brunch, the zucchini pancakes with orange jam is my jam. But anything you’ll get, you’ll love, so take your pick.

Subculture is not only a favorite stop for coffee, but for Instragrammers as well. There’s not a day where somebody doesn’t take a picture with the Einstein mural.

Besides serving java and microbrews, there are also snacks, cakes, brownies, salads, sandwiches and smoothies, along with granola and açaí bowls. They also have a cheese board and a beer tap.

Camelot

If you get blocked by a woman wearing feathers, sequins and stilettos using your car as a dancing partner, relax. This is all part of the show — the drag show, that is. Camelot has fierce drag shows on Sunday nights until the last Sunday of June.
